Levain et le vin

Levain et le vin is a new bread and wine store in the city. We say bread and wine, but it's actually much more than that. It's homemade sourdough breads and focaccia and the most amazing cinnamon buns!!

The wines sold or all natural wines, meaning that there are no additives and the process happens naturally.

They also have a cafe/coffee corner and where they serve great coffee and delicious sandwiches using their own homemade bread.

Dutch Homemade

For anybody like us with a sweet tooth, this store is chocolate heaven.

From the moment your walk in, your attention is grabbed by the brightly coloured macaroons, lined up neatly in rows like marching soldiers.

The beautifully sculptured chocolate bonbons, we're told, are all made using single origin chocolate, which is more difficult to work with than a more generic brand. Single origin is an important theme running through the selection of chocolates. Because the cocoa beans come from a single plantation in a specific country, each has their own characteristics, comparable to a good wine or coffee.

You'll find unusual varieties from as far away as Vietnam, Brazil and the Caribbean.

Toms

'One for One'

In 2008, American traveler Blake Mycoskie befriended children in a village in Argentina and found they had no shoes to protect their feet. Wanting to help, he created TOMS, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need. One for One.

The company has since expanded into eyeware and coffee. With every pair purchased, Toms will help give sight to a person in need.  With every pack of coffee purchased, TOMS will give one week of clean water to a person in need.

The company recently opened a store in Amsterdam. We're all about giving back and helping those in need. Go in an show your support. Not only will you be treating yourself, but you'll be helping someone in the process, One for One.
